A rare and powerful tornado tore through the village of Pomas in the Aude region of southwestern France on Monday, August 24, injuring 39 people, including two in critical condition, and damaging around 300 homes.

A tornado tore through the village of Pomas in southwestern France on Monday, injuring around 39 people and damaging an estimated 300 homes. Winds reaching 117 km/h ripped roofs off buildings, with 15 people hospitalized and more than 120 emergency workers deployed to the town near Carcassonne.
